Battery plays a lively function in our day to day life. We use batteries in many different items such as automobiles, calculators, laptops, radios, MP3 players, mobile phones etc.Every mobile electronics device and electrical equipments have their battery pack.

Now-a-days there are different types of battery used, basically it is of two types i.e. primary and secondary.  Primary batteries are most commonly used in household/domestic purposes. It converts chemical energy into electrical energy. It can’t be reusable i.e. after single use, it has to be thrown. It is more likely known as alkaline battery. But in case of secondary, it can be reusable and rechargeable for a specific period of time due to the presence of lead acid, nickel cadmium and nickel hydride inside it. It is also known as rechargeable battery. So the usage of secondary is preferable rather than using primary.

Disadvantages

·         Rechargeable batteries are used for a limited span of time.
·         Sometimes batteries may cause of hazardous explosion, chemical pollution and so on.
·         Some types are needed to be maintained and checked periodically.
Presently the market demands for highly efficient and portable batteries which have higher longevity. To fill these measures the capacity and capability of rechargeable cells has steadily increased. Hence it is, saving you money and diluting your impact on the surroundings.

Battery maintenance is an important topic. It only requires a little monthly maintain to perform perfectly.
·         You should check the electrolyte level.
·         You should avoid flames, sparks and smoking near the battery.
·         You should use insulated tools while working on it.
